Ordering your garlands from Alangkaar is straightforward:

2. Customise Your Design
Choose your preferred flowers, colours, garland length, and style. We can match garlands to your wedding decoration theme and bridal attire colours.
3. Confirm Delivery or Self-Collection
Garlands can be collected free from our workshop at 21 Kerbau Road, or delivered to any wedding venue in Singapore for $90 (ice-packed). Early morning and late night deliveries have a $60 surcharge.
4. Receive Your Garlands Fresh on Wedding Day
All garlands are made the morning of your wedding and packed fresh. We recommend placing orders at least 1 week in advance for custom designs or large quantities.
Cultural Significance of Indian Wedding Garlands
The exchange of garlands — known as Jaimala in North Indian weddings and Maalai Maatral in South Indian weddings — is one of the most sacred rituals in a Hindu wedding ceremony. When the bride and groom place garlands around each other's necks, they are symbolically accepting each other as partners for life.
In South Indian tradition, the garland is also offered to deities during the ceremony, placed on the thali, and used to decorate the mandap. Jasmine flowers are especially significant — believed to bring good luck and prosperity to the new couple.
