21 Tyrwhitt Road, at the corner of Plumer Road in the Farrer Park and Jalan Besar area. Foochow (also spelt Foo Chow) Building has a two-storey function hall, and your event takes one floor of it. The hall supplies the room, tables, chairs, LED wall and sound; we bring in the styling, the food and the crew.

We bring the tea set, brew the tea and set the table, so the two families can simply enjoy the moment. Can be booked alone or with any buffet. Suits the home morning ceremony or a corner of the venue.

Yes. Add it in the price builder: Tea Ceremony Essentials at $288 or the Styled Tea Ceremony at $588 a couple. Essentials brings a porcelain tea set, red date and longan tea for up to 30 family members, 2 kneeling cushions, and delivery, set-up and collection. Styled adds a cream tea table with dried flowers and pampas, 2 elder chairs, sweet dumpling soup for up to 30 and a helper for an hour. Book the 9am–3pm session for tea and lunch, or both sessions for tea by day and dinner at night.
Yes. Book the 9am–3pm session: say your vows on a styled stage, then serve Vows High Tea or a buffet lunch. You arrange your own licensed solemniser; we style the stage and plan the timing around the ceremony. The hall is priced per session whatever your numbers, so it suits a ROM of about 80 guests or more. For a smaller one, ask us about a smaller venue.
Not with a real flame. The building allows no open flame anywhere, so we style your aisle and tables with LED candles, and sparklers are out. For a cold-spark or other effect, ask us first and we will check it with the hall.
Up to 400 at 10-seat tables on one floor, depending on the layout. Level 2 seats 450 theatre-style and Level 3 seats 350. For a bigger event across both floors, WhatsApp us and we will price it with you.
Yes. Every menu comes from our own halal-certified kitchen, the Western and Chinese favourites alike. Tell us about vegetarian guests or allergies when you book.
No. The Ivory Co. × Alangkaar is an independent planner, caterer and décor team. We arrange the hall booking with you at the hall's own rates and run the day from set-up to clear-out.
It is built from the hall's current rates and our own menu, styling and planning prices. Our part is nett, as Alangkaar is not GST-registered. The hall has not published separate rates for 2027, so for 2027 dates we confirm its rate before you commit. Tablecloths, extra décor time and a second meal on a full day go on your written quote, which confirms the total once the hall confirms your date and session.
The buffets start at 30 guests, and the solemnisation light bites at 20. Below that, talk to a planner and we will suggest a set-up that fits.
Not from us. Alangkaar is not GST-registered and adds no service charge, so our food, décor and planning are nett. Venue hire is at the venue's own rate, with no mark-up from us.
