Rangoli or kolam: the same art, two names

In North India it is called rangoli, in Tamil Nadu kolam (கோலம்), in Kerala pookalam. In Singapore we draw all three styles. Bright colour-filled rangoli with peacocks, lotus and diyas, fine white-line kolam, and flower-petal pookalam. Tell us which tradition your team or family follows and we draw it that way.

Diwali rangoli for offices and malls

Most of our Diwali rangoli is for companies: bank branches, corporate lobbies, shopping-mall atriums, hotel entrances and condominium lobbies. We work during opening hours or overnight, rope the rangoli off so nobody steps on it, and come back to touch it up during long displays.

How much does a kolam cost in Singapore?

Our hand-drawn kolam starts from S$960 for a 1 × 1 m design, call-out included. A 3 × 3 m Peacock Signature is S$3,160, booked 30+ days ahead. Adding your logo is S$880. Prices are shown on alangkaar.com.sg/kolam for every size, design and date.

Do you make rangoli with coloured powder?

We use coloured rice and fine sand. It holds sharper lines than powder, does not stain marble, and sweeps up after the festival.

How early should we book rangoli for Diwali?

Book 30 days or more ahead for the standard rate. Diwali weeks fill first; later bookings carry a surcharge that the price builder shows before you send anything.

Can you make a rangoli with our company name?

Yes. Add a greeting with your name, or upload your logo and we draw it in coloured sand.
